ACE Fire Door Corporation supplies code-compliant, labeled fire door assemblies to contractors, locksmiths, building owners and property managers across New York City.
A fire door only performs as a rated assembly: door, frame, hardware and glazing all matched to the opening. We supply each piece, labeled and ready to install.
Steel doors in 18 and 16 gauge, flush or with vision lites, in standard and custom sizes. Prime-painted or factory-finished.
Flush and stile-and-rail wood doors with mineral or particleboard cores, available in veneer, paint-grade and laminate faces.
Knock-down and welded hollow metal frames, drywall and masonry profiles, sized to your rough openings and prepped for your hardware.
Closers, panic and fire exit devices, ball-bearing hinges, latches, coordinators and smoke seals, all listed for use on rated openings.
Wired, ceramic and fire-resistive glazing with matching lite kits, so you keep sight lines without losing the rating.
Send us your door schedule or plans. We'll confirm ratings against your code requirements and quote the full opening.
ACE Fire Door Corporation has supplied rated openings to contractors and building owners for over 25 years. We work from your door schedule, check every opening against its required rating, and deliver assemblies that pass inspection the first time.
Whether it's a single replacement door or a full schedule for a new build, you deal with people who understand labels, listings and NFPA 80, and who pick up the phone.
Doors, frames and hardware from our shop and recent jobs.
Door ratings follow the wall they sit in. Pick the wall or location from your plans and we'll show the door assembly rating that typically applies.
Based on the IBC table for opening protectives and NFPA 80. Your architect or local authority has the final say; we'll confirm the rating on every opening before we quote.
| Wall assembly | Door rating |
|---|---|
| Fire walls and fire barriers rated 4 hours | 3 hr |
| Fire barriers rated 3 hours | 3 hr |

| Fire barriers rated 1½ hours | 90 min |
| Exit enclosures and exit passageways rated 1 hour | 60 min |
| Other fire barriers and fire partitions rated 1 hour | 45 min |
| Corridor walls and smoke barriers rated ½ or 1 hour | 20 min |

Five numbers and a swing direction are all we need to size a replacement door and frame.
Measure inside the frame, jamb to jamb, at the top, middle and bottom. Give us the smallest number.
From the finished floor to the underside of the frame head. Note the floor finish if it hasn't been installed yet.
For a new frame, measure the wall opening width and height, and the wall thickness for the jamb depth.
Standard is 1¾". Check it if you're reusing an existing frame or hardware.
Stand outside the room: hinges on the right and the door pushes away from you is right hand (RH). Tell us if it swings toward you.
Hinge spacing from the top of the door and lockset height from the floor, if we're matching an existing opening.
The label is the proof that the door or frame was built and tested to its rating by a listing agency such as UL or Intertek. Inspectors look for it on the hinge edge of the door and on the frame rabbet. A rated door with a missing, painted-over or damaged label is treated as unrated.
Yes. NFPA 80 requires fire door assemblies to be inspected and tested at least once a year, with a written record kept for the authority having jurisdiction. Common failures are missing labels, doors that don't latch, gaps over ⅛" at the edges and closers that have been disconnected.
Standard hollow metal doors and frames in stock sizes usually ship within days. Custom sizes, wood doors with specific veneers and special hardware preps take longer; we give you a lead time with every quote.
Often, as long as the frame is labeled for the rating you need, is anchored properly and the hardware preps match the new door. Send us a photo of the frame label and your measurements and we'll tell you.
Yes, within limits. Lite kits and fire-rated glazing are listed for specific ratings and maximum sizes. 20 and 45 minute doors allow larger lites; 90 minute doors are limited to small vision lites with ceramic or fire-resistive glass; 3 hour doors generally have no glazing.
We are a supplier. We work with contractors, locksmiths and building staff who install, and we prep every door and frame at the factory so installation is straightforward.
